24/7 Emergency Service

The HVAC industry has plenty of contractors to keep prices competitive. However, if you have several HVAC quotes, how do you decide betwe10.02.13en them?

There’s a difference between choosing the best HVAC quote and choosing the cheapest HVAC quote. As the old saying goes, “You get what you pay for.” But when you’re staring at a quote that could save you $1,000 upfront, it’s a temptation that might be hard to resist. Here are some tips to help with choosing the best HVAC quote.

  • Certification and licenses: A contractor may be able to offer services cheap if he doesn’t pay for proper certification and licensing. Don’t gamble your home comfort; choose a certified and licensed contractor.
  • Brands you trust: Lennox and Carrier are just two examples of brands you want available when you choose whom to work with.
  • Experience: Look for a contractor with at least ten years of experience.
  • References: When asked, an HVAC contractor should be able to provide references for you to contact.
  • Knowhow: A properly trained technician should be able to justify why he recommends a particular system for a better reason than “the size matches your home’s square footage.”
  • Efficiency: The cheaper HVAC quote may be for a smaller or less efficient system.
  • Warranty: A good-quality warranty may last longer than the cheaper system’s warranty and offer better coverage.
  • Support and emergency services: If the HVAC equipment breaks down, how quickly will a technician arrive at your door? Are there emergency services and preventative maintenance agreements from the HVAC contractor with the lowest bid?
  • Instinct: Pay attention to the way you feel when talking on the phone with one contractor or another. You should be treated with respect and courtesy. If you feel uncomfortable at any time that might be a good sign to choose a different company.
